In her sculptural work Monika J. Schödel Müller combines familiar elements and shapes in an unusual way, by which she generates hybrid creatures of its own kind

The mythological figure of the "Trickster" is one of her favorite themes.

These are known as rogues, fools and shapeshifters. As primordial beings they combine elements of divinity and characters of animals. They represent border crossers, which can not be clearly assigned because to define is to draw boundaries.
